Richard Ross Broadbridge
May 17, 1924 - March 27, 2018

As I write these words, with tears streaming down my face, I can't help but smile. Some may think it strange, but these words are being written about a man who Loved to make people smile. Whether it was singing old time commercial jingles or just making funny faces at the kids. He Loved it when they laughed. So, I find it fitting to smile as I write, to honor the man I called Daddy; the man who raised 4 children to be good, honest, kind and fun-loving individuals.

Richard Broadbridge battled melanoma for many years; yet as hard as he fought, it was a battle he just couldn't win. He passed peacefully into the arms of the Love of His Life and His Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the age of 93. He was surrounded by family and bathed in Love as he left us to join them in Heaven.

Richard lived a long fruitful life and he enjoyed living. He bowled and golfed until he was 88 years old. He Loved spending time with his family and friends. Card games were a must at most gatherings and he taught his children and grandchildren that having fun is an important part of life.

Richard was preceded to Heaven by the Love of his Life, Jennie M. Broadbridge and is survived by their Four Children: Lee J. Broadbridge (Mary), Karen M. George (Tom), David R. Broadbridge (Tammy), Jill A. Parks (Scott). His Eight Grandchildren: Greg (Amanda), Linnea (Chris), Jamie, Carissa, Megan, Adam, Kyla, and Trevor (Jamie). As well as his Nine Great-Grandchildren:L Brendan, Dominick, Lucas, Timothey, Layne, Chance, Aaron, Autumn and Riley.

Such a legacy is to be celebrated with all the Love of Life that Richard shared with Each of Us.

The family will receive friends Monday 2-8 p.m. with Vigil Service 7 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple and Big Beaver), 248-362-2500.
