Obituary for Melvin Whybra
Melvin Whybra, 88, of Nashua, NH passed away at St Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua on December 13, 2016.
He was born in Jackson, MI on January 2, 1928, the son of the late Adam and Cecilia (Drouillard) Whybra. Mel was a strong advocate of high education earning two Master’s degrees, one from the University of Michigan and one from Dartmouth College.

Throughout his career he worked as a hardware analyst for companies in the aerospace, automobile and defense industries, including University of Michigan, MIT, General Electric and retiring from Mitre Corporation.
Mel was an avid aviation enthusiast, having received a private pilot’s license, owning and flying his plane for over 30 years, in addition to his own personal flying he spent many years teaching young pilots as a private pilot instructor. He was also a member of the Quiet Birdmen Association. He also enjoyed ice dancing, Michigan Football, and the Detroit Tigers.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having been activated while a member of the Michigan National Guard.

Surviving are his children Matthew (Mary) Whybra, Diane (Gary) Streicher, Eric (Debra) Whybra, Michael (Jackie) Whybra, 11 grandchildren, and his brother Larry Whybra and his family.

SERVICES: At the family’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A private service will be held in Michigan at a later date.
