October 08, 1952 - July 25, 2017

Kathleen Elizabeth Clark lived a creative life. She was both a talented writer and artist. As a high school student she was awarded the Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Key Award for her creative writing submission and for her painting entry in the same year. She was awarded a full scholarship to the Parsons School of Design in New York at the age of seventeen. Kathy amassed a large body of work in different media. Her pieces have been on display in private collections and at Manresa Jesuit Retreat Center and Our Lady of Mercy High School. She brought an artist’s eye to everything she did.

Kathy was a loyal and grateful friend to many. She was grateful to Drs. Andreas Marcotty and Gerald Rosenbaum, Fr. James Cronk, and mentor Sister Marie Ignatius. Her cousins Mary Beth Hayes- Zatko and Deirdre Keller fortified Kathy Throughout her illness and last days. Most importantly, Kathy cared for her mother Rosemary Clark during her final years.

A deep faith sustained Kathy through many physical and psychological challenges. Few would know how constant and debilitating her pain was. She undertook one last art project by restoring the Infant of Prague statue for the Orchard Lake Schools. Kathy is survived by her sisters Patricia
Hartwig and Margaret Clark as well as her brothers William Clark and Christopher Clark. Thirteen great nieces and nephews have begun their art careers under Kathy’s tutelage and encouragement.
