Dr. Merle Rydesky

Dr. Merle F. Rydesky (Pete), age 78, passed away April 12, 2018
Merle was a Captain in the United States Army, stationed in Ft. Wayne, IN during the Vietnam War. Known as ‘Doc Pete’, he founded the Providence Hospital Emergency Department in Southfield, Michigan, and was instrumental in establishing one of the first EMS systems throughout the country. He will be forever remembered for his humble demeanor, humor, and unending generosity.
Beloved husband of Barbara for 43 years. Loving father of Julie, Dr. Peter (Beth), Paul, and Ann Marie. Endearing grandfather of Olivia Grace and Holden.
Visitation Monday, April 16th, 3pm-8pm with a 7pm Scripture Service at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. In state Tuesday, April 17th, 10:30am until time of Funeral Mass 11am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd, West Bloomfield Township. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
