May 27, 1964 - July 14, 2017

Maryam passed away after a 7 year battle with cancer. An extremely hard fighter, Maryam served as an inspiration to all that had the opportunity to know her.

Maryam was born in Ahwaz, Iran, the daughter of Abdolkarim Hosseinian and Kobra Abdesha. Maryam was extremely passionate about her son, family, friends, and patients, always putting them before herself, regardless of her own struggles. A people person who possessed a warm and inviting personality, Maryam loved to host friends and family in her home for tea and her well known traditional Persian cooking. A renowned child psychiatrist, Dr. Hosseinian possessed an extraordinary work ethic that she displayed during her decade long tenure at Hawthorn Center, as she continued to work despite her illness. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, which was a source of strength and comfort for her during her illness. Maryam will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who will forever remember her as a calm and caring person who always carried herself with elegance and class.

Maryam is survived by her son, Ryan Rezaee; her brothers, Dr. Abdulazim Hosseinian, Dr. Abdulhamid (Azar) Hosseinian, Dr. Mohammad Ali (Masoumeh Soleimani) Hosseinian, and Dr. Mohammad (Rana Zarghai) Hosseinian; her sister, Homa Hosseinian; her former husband, Heshmat John Rezaee; her nieces and nephews, Cyrus Hossainian, Darius Hossainian, Dr. Leila Hosseinian, Ali Hosseinian, Mona Hosseinian, Arash Hosseinian, Mina Tabarki, Dr. Mitra Tabarki, Ahmad Tabarki, Dr. Mojgan Tabarki, Anahid Hosseinian, Auveen E. Hosseinian, and Raudin E. Hosseinian; and her sister in law, Bobbi Hossainian. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her parents, Abdulkarim Hosseinian and Kobra Abdesha; her sister, Zohreh Hosseinian; and her brothers, Ramin Hosseinian, and Hossein (Parisa) Hosseinian.

Visitation for Maryam will be held on Sunday, July 23rd from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in downtown Farmington, with a scripture service at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 24th at 10:00 am, with Maryam being in state at 9:30 am, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, which is located at 23815 Power Rd in Farmington, Father Patrick Fulton, CSB, presiding. The burial will follow immediately after at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial donations to be made to her son Ryan’s college fund, please make the checks out to Ryan Rezaee.
