Dolores Zielinski
September 10, 1928 - February 18, 2018

On February 18, 2018, Dolores Zielinski passed away in the loving arms of her daughter, Denise. Dolores most recently resided in Grosse Ile, Michigan having previously been a resident of Melvindale, Michigan for over 50 years. Dolores was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 10, 1928 to her parents Robert and Clara Czarnecki (Kulczak). She married the love of her life, John Zielinski, on May 19, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan and they were happily married for 55 years.

Dolores enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crocheting but was most fulfilled while spending time with her family and friends. As an active member of her church community and St. Mary Magdalen’s Christian Mother’s Guild, Dolores served in many areas of the church school, including school librarian. Dolores loved to serve others and freely gave of her time in numerous areas including volunteering as Boy Scout Leader and Camp Fire Girl Leader.

Dolores is survived by her daughters Denise Zielinski of Grosse Ile, MI and Cyndi Young and husband Craig of Owasso, OK, son Timothy Zielinski and wife Patricia of Daphne, AL, and sister Connie Landes and husband the Reverend Dr. Alan Hall Landes of Salina, KS.

Dolores was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Edward Czarnecki and her sister, Florence Honey and daughter Tina.

A loving Grandmother to Jonathan Pevarnek, Jennifer Pevarnek, Christopher Young and wife Haley, Krystyn Taffurelli and husband Albee, Kathy Farrow, Kelly Young, Kim Zielinski, Greg Zielinski, and 15 great-grandchildren. Dolores will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The prayer service on Sunday evening will be led by her brother in law, the Reverend Dr. Alan Hall Landes.
