Dolores MullinDolores Mullin
December 03, 1927 - January 12, 2018

It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we said 'goodbye' to our Mother, Dolores Mullin (nee Nogalski), on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the age of 90 years.

After raising her family, Dolores worked at Olympia Stadium, and later Joe Louis Arena, in the concession stand with many of her friends from her tightly-knit neighborhood in Westland, Mich. She enjoyed being with her family, playing pinochle, and going to the casino. She was an excellent cook and made the best Polish city chicken and stuffed cabbages this side of the Atlantic Ocean! She is best known for baking delicious butter cookies, gingerbread cookies, and lemon meringue pie. Dolores welcomed everyone into her home and made sure they were all well-fed!

Dolores enjoyed listening to a variety of music and even in her last days, she still managed to sing a few songs with those in her presence, including her favorites “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and “Let It Be,” as well as her beloved Polish Christmas carols.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Patti (Ron) Auten, Paul Mullin, Carol (Peter) Kalinski, and Marie (Kevin) Boussie; Kimberly Auten (step granddaughter), 3 great granddaughters and 3 great-great granddaughters, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas P. Mullin, and her parents, Stanley and Mary (nee Janowicz) Nogalski, along with her sisters and brothers, Catherine, Stanley, Lillian, Mary, John, Vincent, Rose, Bernard, and Baby Helen.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church (34530 W. Michigan Avenue, Wayne, MI 48184) with Fr. Jack Baker officiating. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/) or The Capuchins (http://www.thecapuchins.org/).
