Anne Rose Nagy
February 23, 1919 – February 4, 2018

Anne Rose Nagy, age 98, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4th at Wellspring Lutheran services.

Born February 23,1919, Anne was one of three children born from the union of the late Peter and Karoline (Muhlhammer) Nagy. She attended St. Mary’s Academy, and went on to graduate from Monroe High School with the class of 1937. On September 2, 1939, Anne married the love of her life, the late Frank D. Nagy at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. For many years she worked as a clerk at Woolworth and Kresge’s.

Anne was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church,and its past Altar Society. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Monroe Public Schools Student Census, and was the 3rd precinct foreman for City of Monroe elections. She was also a member of the Mercy Memorial Hospital Guild and the Rose Garden Club.

To cherish her memory, Anne leaves six children: Dale (Kathy) Nagy of Boise, Idaho, Frank Nagy of Monroe, Michigan, Daniel (Patty) Nagy of Spokane, Washington, William (Jan)Nagy of Pompano Beach, Florida,, Carolyn (Dennis) Gacioch of North Canton, Ohio and Beth Anne (Ehren) Paul of La Salle, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Anne is preceded in death by two brothers: Frank and Joseph Giljum.

Family and friends may visit from 2 until 8 pm on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Rupp Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will take place at 6 pm. She will lie state at 9 am on Saturday, February 10th, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe, with a funeral mass at 10. Rev. Raymond Arwady will officiate. An entombment will immediately follow at St Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Saint John Church or Promedica Hospice.
