MaryAnn Pursley
December 19, 1931 - May 16, 2017

MaryAnn Pursley, age 85 of Monroe, died at 3:31 p.m. Tuesday at Fountain View of Monroe. She had been in declining health for two weeks.

Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home where a Scripture Service will be held at 4 p.m. She will lie in state at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by the church pastor, Rev. Philip Ching. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Born December 19, 1931 in Monroe, she was the daughter of the late William and Sadie (Maletich) Mitosinka. She married Eugene M. Pursley on July 26, 1952 at St. Michael Church.

MaryAnn was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary Academy and member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish and Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority.

In addition to raising two daughters, MaryAnn worked at Consolidated Paper Company (Northside) in sales and service for approximately 15 years. She then went to work for Southeastern Fibers in Monroe, also in sales and service, for an additional 25 years before retiring.

MaryAnn is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Jones of Monroe and Sharon (George) Weidner of Toledo; brother, William (Sally) Mitosinka of Monroe; granddaughter, Kara (Alex) Lagman of Rochester Hills; and two great-grandchildren, Lucia and Travis Lagman.

Memorial donations are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
