Edward Durbin II

Edward Elvis Durbin II, age 56, long time resident of Hazel Park Michigan passed away at his home on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Born in Pontiac, he lived most of his life in Hazel Park, attending school at St. Mary Magdalen, Webb Jr. High and Hazel Park High School. He is survived by his 3 sons: Edward Joseph “Joey” (Hollie) Pascoe of Sterling Heights, Edward Elvis (Valerie) Durbin III of Warren & Christopher Michael (Samantha) Durbin of Lapeer, step daughter Monique Robinson; 10 Grandchildren Tyler, Dillon, Molly, Edward IV, Lyla, Gabe, Christopher, Olivia, & Lydia, with the newest due in November. Also surviving are his mother JoAnn Durbin of Hazel Park; his sisters, Patricia (Paul) Schlagel; Deborah (Thomas) Swofford; Pamela (Garry) Shelly; Lisa Mix; his brother Ronald (Toni) Durbin; his many nieces and nephews & his former spouse Laura. He is pre-deceased by his father, Edward E. Durbin. Following in his father’s footsteps, Ed became a licensed builder and owner of his own company, Durbin Home Improvements, later adding to that Snow Plowing and Lawn Care. He loved the outdoors, was an avid deer hunter and truly enjoyed sharing that with his kids and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with and vacationing with his family. He was a big fan of zip lining and loved to do so with “the youngers”. In accordance with his expressed wishes, no funeral services will be held, but rather a Celebration of Life has been scheduled for Saturday September 11, 2021 from 1:00pm – 6:00pm at the F.O.P. Lodge #130 hall, located at 2233 Burdette in Ferndale, MI 48220 Donations can be made to his family to help cover final expenses or to MUCC/ Michigan Out of Doors Youth Camp.
